We are delighted to share that EFC has been certified as meeting Cyber Essentials standards, demonstrating to clients that we are constantly working to ensure that all common cyber threats are managed. As an organisation we are trusted by clients to handle their data securely. We frequently undertake data management and analysis for clients, so it’s vital that we are protected against common cyber-attacks and that we have a clear picture of our IT set up and cyber security level.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a UK government-backed framework supported by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). The simple but effective scheme helps protect organisations against a whole range of the most common cyber-attacks; it sets out five basic security controls that can protect them against 80% of common cyber-attacks.
The Cyber Essentials certificate is well worth the time and investment and ensures that your business is suitably protected against common cyber threats. Additionally, it signals to customers that the business is trustworthy and capable of securely handling their data.
Certification provides peace of mind for EFC and for our clients, guaranteeing that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber-attacks. That’s because these attackers are looking for targets that don’t have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place. This is important because vulnerability to basic attacks can mark you out as a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and other channels.
Talking about the certification, Alex Hyde-Parker said, ‘At EFC we take clients’ data and cyber security very seriously. By gaining Cyber Essentials certification we wanted to demonstrate that we’re committed to cyber security. Cyber attacks are the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked. We can say with confidence that having this certification means no doors have been left unlocked at EFC. Great news for us and for our clients.’
