project details
St Basils is a national charity supporting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The organisation has a well-established fundraising programme, raising around £1 million each year from a wide range of income sources and thousands of supporters.
The team approached Efficient Fundraising Collective (EFC) to review their fundraising CRM and associated processes following a previous system migration which had resulted in inconsistencies in how data and gifts were recorded.
EFC carried out a comprehensive CRM health check, analysing how supporter data, donations and fundraising activity were being recorded within the database. This work identified areas where inconsistent processes and legacy data structures were making it difficult to fully trust reports or gain clear insight into fundraising performance.
Following the review, EFC provided detailed recommendations and practical steps to improve data quality, streamline gift processing and strengthen data management practices. This included improving the way recurring gifts were recorded, ensuring payment sources were captured consistently and developing clearer procedures for recording and acknowledging donations.
Building on this work, EFC then supported St Basils with the migration to Beacon CRM. The project included designing the new CRM configuration, importing supporter and fundraising data, integrating online donation tools and email systems, and creating dashboards and filters to support reporting and segmentation.
Throughout the project EFC worked closely with the St Basils team to ensure the new system reflected their operational needs and provided the foundations for sustainable fundraising growth.
